A Little Girl

I once knew a little girl
Who seemed to be obsessed with Pearls.
No matter how the sea would whirl
She would try to go deep with a swirl

One night when the moon was nice and bright,
But still there wasn't enough of light,
To see what the sea held at its shore,
The girl didn't know what for her was in store.

The sand on the beach, a shell it held
Ecstatic was how the girl had felt.
Another pearl for the collection she thought,
Certainly cannot leave it here to rot.

But she didn't know it really well,
how carrying herself away could unleash hell,
Because the Shell Opened for once and for all,
And engulfed the girl, she couldn't even call.

What, when ,where ,whom to tell?
There was no one to hear her yell.
She was probably turned into a churl.
That's how Once I knew a little girl,
Whose soul found fatal, her obsession with pearls.
